Southern Downs & Granite Belt Regional Tourism

About Us
Southern Downs & Granite Belt Regional Tourism (SDGBRT) is a non-profit incorporated association with a membership drawn from individuals, companies and organisations that have an interest in the promotion and development of tourism on the Southern Downs and Granite Belt.

The association was one of the original 12 organisations funded by Tourism Queensland (TQ). This has now grown into a network of 14 regional tourism organisations.

SDGBRT was incorporated in 1989 and is governed by a Board representing the diverse interests of the region. SDGBRT employs a Chief Operating Officer, three full time staff and a number of casual tourist officers. More than 15 volunteers also provide their valuable assistance in the operation of the Warwick Visitor Information Centre.

Our Role
The role of SDGBRT is the co-operative marketing and promotion of the Southern Downs and Granite Belt as a tourist destination. It addresses the needs and issues affecting the long-term viability of the tourism industry in the region.

The association acts as the official representative of the tourism industry on behalf of the region in liaison with Tourism Queensland (TQ), Tourism Australia (TA), and other tourism bodies and local authorities.

As a membership based organisation the association is governed by the collective needs of its members. It also acts in the interest of their professional effectiveness by the provision of information, advice and assistance.
